Kate's Story

Helping Kate step fully into the leadership role her business needed.

When Kate first came to us, her clinic was already extremely successful. It had grown steadily over the years, built a strong reputation, a loyal client base and a talented team. The business was not just profitable, it was highly profitable, with consistent demand and a full diary. From the outside, everything looked exactly as it should.

But behind the scenes, something wasn’t sitting right for her. The business had reached a point where the way it had always been run was no longer sustainable. And that’s a moment I see often with founder, when success itself starts to create pressure.

Kate cared deeply about her standards and about the experience every client received. And because of that, she was involved in almost everything. She was checking details, overseeing decisions, stepping in when things weren’t done exactly as she expected, and carrying a constant sense of responsibility for the entire operation. The business was thriving, but she rarely felt able to switch off. She was working incredibly hard and holding far more than she needed to, largely on her own.

Understanding the day-to-day

When we began working together, the first step was to really understand both the structure of the business and her day-to-day experience of running it. It became clear quite quickly that the clinic didn’t need more success. It needed stronger structure around the success it already had.

From there, we started to shift how the business operated behind the scenes. We worked on her time, her priorities, and where her energy was being spent. That meant helping her step back from tasks that didn’t require her direct involvement and refocus on the areas where she truly added value. We also spent time on the financial side, so she could feel more confident using her numbers to guide decisions rather than relying purely on instinct.

Establishing clear leadership

A key part of the process was strengthening the leadership within the clinic itself. We developed one of her key senior team member a manager to sit alongside her, someone who could share operational responsibility and provide clear day-to-day direction for the team. At the same time, we worked on expectations, accountability and targets so that everyone understood their role and how they contributed to the overall success of the business.

As those changes started to take shape, there was a noticeable shift. Kate was no longer trying to hold everything together herself. The team became more structured, communication improved, and the clinic began to run with greater consistency and confidence.

The business had always been strong. What Kate needed was the space and the structure to step fully into leadership.

Today, she continues to run a thriving clinic, but in a very different way. She has a capable team around her, stronger leadership in place, and the freedom to focus on the bigger picture of where the business can go next. And from my side, it’s always a privilege to step back and watch that evolution, while knowing we are here if she needs us.
