What is it like to attend a business retreat?

Last year I co-hosted a business retreat with Tiphaine from Expertise Spa Bien-être for the first time. We loved the experience, so I want to replicate it in September 2023 for English-speaking owners looking to recenter, reset and refocus for the year ahead.

I am sure you have heard of business retreats; however, they can mean different things to different people. Having been asked so many questions, I thought it would be important to let you know some key facts;

  • Who is it for?

Any spa, hair or/and beauty salon or clinic owners looking to take a step back from their business and reposition themselves with their strategy. Running a business can be so consuming that this time out allows you to think strategically about what you want to happen in your business for the year ahead and make a concrete plan that you can follow easily to facilitate implementation.

  • What is it?

It consists of well-balanced planned activities from workshops to yoga, time to reflect to walks, games to relaxation, and most importantly, we have a small group of like-minded owners who are here for the same reason. Connecting with others is a crucial part of being an entrepreneur, and I never knew how important it was until I experienced it. On top of all of this, our chefs are here to delight you with freshly cooked food; when was the last time you actually took time for your breakfast, lunch and dinner?!

  • Why a business retreat?

Before going to a business retreat, I never knew how to answer that question correctly. I knew what I wanted to deliver, but experiencing it makes it even more special and this is how I can describe it: the business retreat allows you to reshape your thought processes for the better. The retreat’s environment gives you the

opportunity to discuss everything, take time for your ideas to flourish and create a sense of well-being which can be difficult when running a business. The fact that you are there for three days with the same people creates a connection which allows creativity and innovation to flow. A business retreat is ideal for anyone who wants to invest in themselves and experience something new.

  • What do I leave with?

On the first day, we had a group of owners who found it hard to reflect and take action. By the time they left, they had a plan of action and clear, precise steps to take to secure the success of their business. Having those three days together is so crucial, even for us hosting it, as it allows us to truly get to know you and what you want to achieve. So you will leave with a clear strategy for your business and a strategic planner will allow you to focus on your time management, structure, communication and core values that reflect your business for staff and customers alike. This business retreat is about building on what you already possess and coaching you to allow growth for the year ahead.

A business retreat does what it says on the tin: retreat. Three days of being taken care of, having that headspace to carry on strategically and creating a sense of community that allows you to cope with a demanding business.

I hope you can join us in September. We want to make sure that everyone that wants to come has a space, but places are limited, so please don’t leave it too long.
